Third Time Lucky in Venice - Heading Home

We had a close connection between catching the Vaperetto to the bus station and then checking in and boarding our flight from Marco Polo Airport!  So we got up just a bit earlier than the previous days, ate our breakfast first before heading out to St Mark's Square and then walked to the Vaperetto station.  There were no detours but plenty of photo stops.

This should have been in time for sunrise, but instead we got to experience a bit of how Venice copes with its frequent floods.  It was obvious they were preparing for flooding, but then I read they are always prepared for flooding  - at least during the winter months.  There are walkways all over the place, even on Burano!

What was even more interesting was that the locals don't even seem to notice the flooding! They just go on with life as normal, deliveries are made, jogging is done, walking to work is done at rush hour. Very impressive.
Deliveries never stop!

Very sad to leave Venice after such a fantastic 3 days.  I thought after enjoying Venice 3 times in 3 different ways that would be sufficient to say farewell and look at other destinations. But I just don't know......I believe we will be back!
