Rainy Day in Hawes - Day 4

Our plan was to leave this morning, but the weather was just so bad everywhere we thought, why not just stay here? So we got one more night here.

This does not mean I took 3 naps like I did in South Uist when the weather was atrocious! No, it wasn't "that" bad here, but why go anywhere else when it was just rainy and dreary everywhere?

Not one to resist a scone, this one was really different!
Red Leicester Cheese Scone with a slice of Wensleydale
Cheese and Apple Cinnamon Chutney.
And of course - tea!

And killing time in Hawes is one thing we excel at!  So we wandered into town and had a lovely morning snack at the Wensleydale Cheese shop.  Then went back to the White Hart Inn to use their wifi.  To be polite, we did order a beer and a gin & tonic!
Friends of us told us the best way to eat Wensleydale Cheese
is with fruit cake, but that scone was just too tempting.

Great pub and super restaurant!

Then a stop at the Dales Countryside museum, and a look over the bridge to see if the ponies had any more new sections in their field to eat - no they didn't. It was all nicely trimmed by them now.  I guess the farmer would have another field with nice grass for them to move on to.

This must be a relatively new post box.
When I say relatively new,
Queen Elizabeth has reigned for
over 60 years now!

It was raining too much to consider going out to eat again, and we always have enough food in our motorhome, so we just stayed in, had an early night and intended to head "somewhere" tomorrow.  No idea where though.....
