Luskentyre Beach - after the sun came out
28 May We woke up to sunshine, again! And jumped out of bed to make the approximately 50 yard walk to see Luskentyre Beach in all its glory. We were the first people on the beach and it was spectacular! Pictures cannot do justice to the beauty and tranquility of this wonderful area.
This was such a wonderful experience, I am simply going to focus on this fabulous beach and share the photos I took there. The next blog will be what we did next on this wonderful journey.

A bit earlier in the day, not full sunshine yet

Even the grass is beautiful

We saw about 10 people on the beach
while we were there.
Not all at once though! |

The pathway from our campsite to the beach

Just a bit of explanation about how we were so fortunate to be here so early in the morning. We left Seilebost and drove all along the road that goes along this shore. We passed a few campsites sponsored by the West Harris Trust. These are right on the water, with room for maybe 3 vehicles. It is an honour system, and the sign requests that you send in £5 by paypal to stay at these sites. Although we didn't have internet connection, we would have happily stayed here and sent our money later, but there was no room. We drove on and passed 2 more....still full.... Got to the dead end, where there is a pubic toilet and also a car park for a cemetery. That car park says no overnight parking and was respected. But the smaller one near the public toilets was managed by the West Harris Trust and had another honour system. The charge here was £7. I expect the higher cost was due to the location of actual public toilets! And there was room for us to just squeeze in with the few other motorhomes that were there. So very lucky!
